About festival
The Belgrade Documentary and Short Film Festival, the popular March Festival, is the oldest film festival in the country. Ever since its first edition it has been the most important, and during certain periods of time the only platform for domestic filmmakers to show their documentaries, experimental, animated and short films to the audience and peers from all over the world. Starting from 2017, under the management of the Belgrade Youth Center and with the new artistic director Mr. Boban Jevtić, the Festival switches its focus to domestic film production of documentaries, TV documentaries, short, animated and experimental films, thus truly becoming a national film festival.
The Festival will be carried out in all halls of the Belgrade Youth Center, from March 30, to April 2, 2017, and all domestic producers and filmmakers can enter their submissions from January 30, 2017 through www.2017.martovski.rs. The official entry deadline is February 27, 2017.
Beside film screenings in competitive and non-competitive programs, the March Festival will host numerous workshops and open consultations for all domestic filmmakers as well as film students, while the audience and guests will be welcome at concerts and parties.
It is our wish, with fresh organization and program concept while keeping the reputation and tradition, that the March Festival becomes an exciting meeting point for film professionals and enthusiasts, a place where people can exchange ideas, get together and enjoy films in the heart of Belgrade.
The Belgrade Documentary and Short Film Festival is a permanent event of cultural importance for the City of Belgrade, the Festival sponsor.
